Segmenting

Segmenting is a short video explaining the educational theory of segmenting and how it’s used in creating lessons. The video compares different ways of teaching– using segmenting and also not segmenting information. Knowing these theories helps enforce good teaching techniques and being able to back these theories with research and examples helps an instructional designer work with subject matter experts and other people involved in the design process. This kind of multimedia has different elements involved with audio, text, and video to engage learners, but not overwhelm them and induce cognitive overload.
