A little unconventional, this short news clip on women in mixed martial arts, utilized subject matter experts (SMEs) to discuss a relevant topic as well as B-roll relevant to the topic. Instructional designers need to work closely with SMEs and be able to develop their information into theory driven lessons. Creating video with SME interviews allows users to connect with these SMEs and get an in depth perspective on the lesson itself. It’s important for instructional designers to build a good relationship with SMEs and be able to direct and edit these kinds of materials.
